Saanichton is a charming village that is located close to both the farms and the sea. There are many fruit and vegetable farms in the area, making Saanichton a mecca for foodies for much of the year.
Brentwood Bay is a small community on the Saanich Peninsula with a strong rural feel. Residents look out on narrow Saanich Inlet and the towering hills of the Malahat to the west across the water.
While primarily a bedroom community for Victoria about 30 minutes by car to the south, Brentwood Bay is also home to farms and horse stables, and hosts the Saanich Fair each Labour Day weekend.
Brentwood Bay is also the location of the world-famous Butchart Gardens. Thanks to the close proximity to Butchart Gardens, Brentwood Bay residents have a front-row seat to the nearby attraction’s fireworks show on summer evenings.
Saanichton is home to a Thrifty Foods, and Brentwood Bay features a Fairway Market. A larger shopping center is located in Broadmead, about 15 minutes by car down Highway 17 (Pat Bay Highway).

The Ardmore neighbourhood on the west side of the peninsula is close to the beach as well as two golf courses.
Just to the north, Deep Cove, with its school, fire hall, coffee shop and gas station acts as the “downtown” and heart of North Saanich.
